Experiencing the City: Seeing Manama in a different light

HAWRA AL SHAIKH: 21 February 2015

This is a workshop being organised by Hawra Al Shaikh who is a UCA PhD candidate in the Canterbury School of Architecture. The workshop is part of a research project, under the supervision of Dr Hocine Boougdah. It is an exploration of immateriality in architecture and how it can inform users’ spatial experience. The workshop consists of a walk through the city of Manama, Bahrain with a group of local participants followed by a round table discussion of ways the city can be experienced, and the socio-cultural factors (among others) that connect people and their cities.
