MULTISTORY DOUBLE-HEADER
James Soane & Luke Hayes
Thurs 1st May 2014

We are pleased to announce a MULTISTORY guest lecture DOUBLE-HEADER: 1pm // James Soane // Project Orange // 6pm // Luke Hayes // Architectural Photographer // (Drinks from 5.30pm) Thursday 1st May 2014 // Architecture Building Foyer Space // UCA Canterbury // James Soane is an architect and writer. James will be discussing the evolving trend for (re) creating interiors that have instant character. It is with a knowing and playful irony that new materials are distressed to look old, or that original vintage pieces sit beside facsimiles of the same. Using recent examples of work from his award winning practice, Project Orange, James unpacks this C21st ideology as well as looking forward to the next big thing. Luke Hayes is an independent architectural photographer, based in London. As well as being commissioned by some of the world’s top architects, his work has been published in a range of national and international titles, including The Guardian, New York Times, Blueprint, AR, AJ and C3. Luke’s beautiful photography captures not only architecture, but also infrastructure and landscape. Beyond London, Luke has also undertaken projects in Rome, Tokyo and Abu Dhabi. Luke will be discussing his influences, interests and working process as well as offering an insight into his portfolio of captivating work. http://www.projectorange.com http://www.lukehayes.com // Multistory is a student and alumni led guest lecture series at Canterbury School of Architecture, University for the Creative Arts.
