Beyond the Frame: Expanding the Frame of Encounter

We are pleased to announce a MULTISTORY guest lecture by James A. Craig of STASUS

Thursday 6th October 2016 // Lecture 5pm // Lecture Theatre W02, UCA Farnham

Stasus was founded by James A. Craig and Matt Ozga-Lawn in 2007, and is an experimental architectural practice interested in the embodied experience of design, and the relationship of the designer to space and representation. In 2010 Stasus won the international Pamphlet Architecture competition, resulting in the publication of Pamphlet Architecture 32: Resilience in 2012. More recently, their projects and writing have been featured in the architecture research quarterly, the Paper for Emerging Architecture Research and Fairy Tales: When architecture tells a story (volume 2). Craig and Ozga-Lawn are both Lecturers in Architecture at Newcastle University’s School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape, and teach architectural studios around the themes of embodied practice and performative readings of architecture. Their most recent studios, Landscapes of Human Endeavour, and Parallel Military Geographies are derived from their research projects in (auto)biographical architecture and the design process.
