Peg Rawes is Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader of the Masters in Architectural History at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL. Her work focuses on the interdisciplinary links between architectural design, philosophy, technology and the visual arts.

Her talk will explore the minor tradition in geometric thinking situated between philosophy, aesthetics and architecture. In contrast to some of the ‘major’ geometric traditions which occupy architectural thinking today, she considers the dissimilarity and ‘ratios’ (i.e. relations) in architectural ecologies and ethics in contemporary architectural practices, with reference to Baruch Spinoza, Agnes Denes and Buckminster Fuller.

Recent publications include; Poetic Biopolitics; Practices of Relation in Architecture and the Arts, co-ed, co-ed. (IB Tauris forthcoming 2015), Relational Architectural Ecologies, ed.,(Routledge 2013), ‘Spinoza’s Geometric and Ecological Ratios’, in The Politics of Parametricism: Digital Technologies in Architecture, ed. M. Shvartzberg and M.Poole (Bloomsbury Academic 2015).
