Peripatetic Landscapes
by Gabor Stark & Emilio Koutsoftides

Senior Lecturer Gabor Stark and UCA alumnus Emilio Koutsoftides exhibit at the Cyprus Pavilion. Entitled Anachoresis: Upon Inhabiting Distances, the Cyprus contribution to the Biennale looks into the spatial experiences that occur when distancing becomes a paradigm for the development of new socialites. Gabor and Emilio address these themes through the use of material and sound sampling. Their sound sculpture Peripatetic Landscapes presents an audio-physical double portrait that combines 1:1 casts of a Cypriot landscape with the transmission of field recordings of the same location.
