M.ARCH students present at
the Church of St Thomas

For the first design project of the academic year, our Master of Architecture students collaborate with the Church of St. Thomas of Canterbury. Built in the 19th century, the Roman Catholic church houses important relics of St Thomas Becket (1119–1170) and of St Oskar Romero (1917–1980). The Church of St Thomas was designated a Diocesan Shrine in 2019 and the parish is now looking for ideas how to reorganise its Martyrs’ Chapel to present a more attractive liturgical space for its visitors, pilgrims, and worshippers. Students will present their proposals to Canon Anthony Charlton, parishioners of the church, and the wider public in the St Thomas Hall on Friday 14 October.
